Wakizashi : Kikumon Oumi Kami Hisamich(first generation)

Wakizashi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Kikumon Oumi Kami Hisamich(first generation)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Oumi Kami Hisamichi first generation.belongs to Saiko saku(the top) ranking.
The blade was polished perfectly.
Blade length : 47.7cm or 18.77 inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.13cm or 1.23 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.2cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 0.79cm or 0.31 inches.
Era : Edo period Circa Enpo (1673-1681).
Shape : It is wide and thick with some Sori.
The Kissaki is rather long. It is nice shape Wakizashi.
Jitetsu :Ko-Itame Hada well grained with JInie attached.
It is clear and nice Jigane.
Hamon : From the Hamachi it is Nie Deki Suguha.
It is deep Nioiguchi .
There are some Sunagashi and fine Kinsuji works.

Special feature : Oumi kami Minamoto Hisamichi was called Hori Rokurobei.
He was one of Kyo 5 kaji and received Oumi Daijyo and after that he received Oumi Kami.
He lived until 85 years long life (Syotoku Gannen)
He said the name of the Misina and worked for Higashiyama emperor at Teikyo 4th year.
He was quite well known sword maker.
This blade is quite fantastic Jigane with suguha hamon.

Historical background: 1687 Tokugawa Shogun Tsunayoshi issued Shorai Awaremi no Rei.
Shogun Tsunayoshi issued a low which is prohibited the killing animals.
