Blade length : 57cm or 22.44inches.
Sori : 1.3cm or 0.51inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.93cm or 1.15inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.01cm or 0.79inches.
Kasane : 0.64cm or 0.25inches.
Era : Edo Kanbun Period
Shape : It is wide and thick rather thick
some sori katana. It is long and nice shape.
Jitetsu : Masame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is clear hada
Hamon : Nie structure gunome midare with deep nioiguchi.
There are sunagashi in the ha and some fine kinsuji work.

Special feature : Sesshu no kami Fujiwara Nagashige is the third generation
of Sendai Nagatoshi. He was called Tashiro Utaro.
His piece has Masame flaw and it could be said that it is from Kunikane group.
This piece, at first glance, reminds of
Miyoshi Nagamichi and the hamon is especially similar.
It is well polished nice condition piece.

Saya : Black ishimeji saya
Menuki : Shakudo plate with hen design engraved and inlayed with gold.
Kozuka : Shakudo nanakoji plate with most likely the design of tea utensils.
