Signature : Masa (Mihara Masamori)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jo Saku ranking.
The blade is polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 49.5 cm or 19.5 inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the Hamachi : 2.96 cm or 1.17 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.32 cm or 0.91 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period around 1558~1570.
Shape : The blade is suriage nakago but one signature is left on the Nakago as Masa.
The blade is wide and thick with wide Shinogiji deep curve healthy blade.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach beautiful texture with Shirake Utsuri appear.
Shinogiji texture : Itame-hada Masanagare.
Hamon : Koniedeki Suguha and double Hamon with small Ashi. Boshi turns round shape.
Special feature : At Kamakkura period some Yamato school sword smiths moved to Bingo province and influenced a lot and made sword at that place. At Kamakura to Nanbokucho period, we call Komihara, and Muromachi period we call Mihara and later on, Suemihara.
At late Muromachi period, Kaimihara school is well known sword smiths like Masamori, Masachika and so on.
This sword is attriributed as Mihara Masamori who was working at Mihara province well known sword smith.
Even though the blade is Suriage, the sword is wide and thick.
This sword is similar Bizen Kiyomitsu, Healthy blade without Kizu and flaw.

Menuki : Flower design is engraved on copper plate with gold color.
Fuchikashira : Lily flower is engraved on n the Shakudo nanako plate with gold and copper color.
