Wakizashi in Koshirae

Signature:Mumei (attributed as Akasaka Senjyuin)

The blade was polished.
Habaki:Ganseki(rock) Habaki
Blade length : 54.4 cm or 21.43 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.71 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.62 cm or 1.03 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.95 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Muromachi period Meio era.
Shape : Oosuriage mumri. There is deep sori with kissaki long.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There are some oohada mix.
It is regretted that there are kitae ware around the sashiura.
Hamon : Konie base with strong nioi. It is kogunome mix with equal hight hamon.
There is ashi well seen, Boushi is round shape notare style.

Special feature : From the jitetsu and hamon, it is though to be sekimono of Meioi period.
Sueseki is Muromachi period katana. This piece is in guns koshirae of sea force.
When their sone has become the warrior of the sea force, those family has received this katana as a family treasure.
The saya of the katana is short because , they were pilots of sea force or they may by a attendant of the submarine.
From the hamon and nice Jigane, the blade might be Akasaka Senjyuin.
