Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Mumei attributed as Mihara

Wakizashi in Koshirae.
Signature : Mumei (unsigned) attributed as Mihara (guarantee : NBTHK Hozon paper)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Habaki :copper single habaki.
Blade length : 50.76 cm or 20.0 inches.
Sori :1.36 cm or 0.54 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the Hamachi : 2.72 cm or 1.07 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.0 cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Mid Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is Osuriage mumei (cut shortened) and engraved Bo-hi on both sides of the blade.
Jigane : Koitame hada and mokume hada mixed masa-nagare with jinie attach.
Hamon :Niedeki suguha hamon with double hamon.
In Hamon, sunagashi and small kinsuji work.
Boshi is round shape with brush up hakikake style.

special feature:From the texture and Hamon, the sword looks like Mihara school which is wild feeling suguha.
Koshirae : good condition.
Saya : Black kizami saya.
Tsuba : On the round shape iron Tsuba, the rim is covered by brass rope design.
Menuki : a dragon is engraved bigger size with gold color.
Fuchikashira : On the shakudo isimeji, temples and matsu tree are engraved with gold color.
