Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Mumei (Echizen Seki)

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae.(Guarantee NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Mumei (unsigned) attributed as Echizen Seki school.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to regular class ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : single copper habaki.
Blade length : 45.7cm or inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi :2.92cm or inches.
Width at the Kissaki :2.26cm or inches.
Kasane : 0.57cm or inches.
Era : Edo Kanbun era.
Shape :The blade is rather wide and thick with small soro and longer kissaki.
Jigane:Itame hada well grained with jinie attach and small kizu
aooear near Hanmachi area but not so bad.
Hamon:Konie deki gunome midare and cyoji midare mixed
and boshi is midarekomi style and turns back long Yakisage.

Special feature : From the Jigane and Hamon, we guess that this blade was made
around Edo period Kanbun era and the Echizen Seki school. There some small Kizu.
But it is nice work.

Koshirae:
Saya:brown red ichimeji saya.
Menuki:The designe of bird is engraved with gold color.
Tsuba:On the syakudo nanako plate, 3 person are engraved
under the matsu tree with gold color.
Fuchi:Plant designe is engraved with gold color.
Kashira:a carp and waves are engraved with gold color.

(We guarantee this blade will pass NBTHK Hozon Shinsa.
We will submit to NBTHK Shinsa if requested.)
