Wakizashi in Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Shimada school.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Regular saki.

The blade was polished.
Habaki: Ganseki habaki(rock shape)
Blade length : 33.93 cm or 13.35 inches.
Sori : 0.45 cm or 0.17 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.86cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.34cm or 0.92 inches.
Kasane : 0.58cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is wide MItsumune style. There is some sori at the tip.
It is the shape of Sunnobi tanto.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with clear hada pattern. There is Jinie attached.
Hamon : Konie Deki hitatsura style with sunagashi and fine kinsuji work. Boshi is sharp end.

Special feature : Shimada School is a sword smith of Sagami and has inherited the skill of Soshu Den.
Shimada Sukemune, Gisuke and many swordsmith was active.
This peice has been approved as Shimada.
It is hitatsura yaki nice condition work.
