Wakizashi in Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)

Signature : Mumei (Unsigned)(Enju school)

Blade length : 45.5 cm or 17.91 inches.
Sori : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.73 cm or 1.07 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.88 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened) unsigned sword.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grained with jinie attach beautiful texture.
On the jigane small lose had and small tiny sabi.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha with koashi soft with soft nioikuchi.
Boshi is round shape.

Special feature :
Enjyu school was belonged to Rai school. Grand child Kunimura of Rai Kuniyuki moved to Kikuchi province and made many swords. His students are Kuniyoshi, Kunimura, Kunotoki and so on.
Their sword feature is Suguha with double hamon and light Utsuri appear.
Boshi is round shape.
I think this Enjyu school influenced a lot to Hizen sword makers.
This sword looks like Rai school Kunitoshi.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the round shaped iron tsuba, ume tree and flowers are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : On the iron plate, ume tree and flowers are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black roar saya.
Menuki : A shishidog is engraved by brass plate.
Kozuka : On the syakudo nanako plate, flower is engraved with gold color.
