Wakizashi: Mumei(Bungo Takada school)

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshriae

Signature : Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Bungo Takada school.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to regular sakuranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: silver double habaki.
Blade length : 45.4 cm or 17.87 inches.
Sori : 1.0cm or 0.34 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi :2.58 cm or 1.02 inches.
Width at the Kissaki :1.98 cm or 0.78 inches.
Kasane : 0.59 cm or 0.23inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era.
Shape:The blade is regular size woth longer kissaki Ubu original shape.
Jigane:Itame hada well grained with jinie attach and some hada appear.
Hamon: Niedeki asuguha and gunome midare mixed with small ashi work.
Boshi is round shape Hakikake style.

Special feature : The hada pattern is well seen.
And the Hamon is tight Suguha with Gunome Midare mixed.
This blade looks like Bungo Takada school. This is nice blade.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: ont he round shape iron tsuba,
flower vase and fdlowers are engraved with gold color, syakudo and silver plate.
Fuchikashira: Iron, the flower is engraved.
Saya: black roiro saya.
Menuki:A dragon and Ken are engraved.
Kozuka: Kogai: Brass, some pattern is engraved.

(We guarantee this Wakizashi will pass NBTHK Hozon Shinsa.
We will submit to NBTHK Shinsa if requested.)
