Wakizashi in Koshirae. (NBTHK Hozon paper)(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper)

The blade was polished.
Habaki :
Blade length : 43.4 cm or 17.08 inches.
Sori : 0.7 cm or 0.27 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.33 cm or 1.31 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.67 cm or 1.05 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Early Edo period, around Kanei era.
Shape : The blade is very wide and thick Hirauchi style sword.
Jigane : Itame hada well grained iwth jinie attached.
The blade is healthy blade without Kizu and flows.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with rather deep Nioikuchi.
Tobiyaki work appearing. Boshi is midarekomi(mixed up) in complex style.

Special feature : Shimada School is a sword smith of Sagami
and has inherited the skill of Soshu Den.
Shimada Sukemune, Gisuke and many swordsmith was active.
This blade was made around early Edo period.
From the viewpoint of Tobiyaki, Midarekomi Hamon of the Boshi,
this blade is typical Soshu Den. The Nakago is Ubu.
The blade is healthy Shimada school Wakizashi.

Koshirae : good condition(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper)
Tsuba : Mokko shape iron Tsuba with cable pattern.
Fuchikashira and Kojiri : Iron with Kiri mon with gold color.
Saya : Brown spots on black Saya with Kiri mon with gold color.
Menuki : The Buddha is engraved with gold color.
Kozuka : Iron, person and bird are engraved with gold color.
Wari-Kogai : Iron with gold color.
