Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mutsu Kami Fujiwara Nobusada

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Mutsu Kami Fujiwara Nobusada belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 52.3 cm or 20.59 inches.
Sori : 1.3 cm or 0.51 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.93 cm or 1.15 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.29 cm or 0.90 inches.
Kasane : 0.625 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Enpo era(1673-1681).
Shape : Nice width and thickness Wakizashi with rather large Sori.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with thick Nioikuchi. There are many Ashi.
Boshi is round shape with a constriction.

Special feature : Mutsu kami Fujiwara Nobusada lived in Echizen province.
He succeed in Edo period around Enpo era(1673-1681).
This blade is a masterpiece in his blades.
His work looks like Miyoshi Nagamichi in Aizu province.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Mokko shape iron Tsuba, spider, spiderweb
and bee are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo, wave is engraved.
Saya: Reddish brown Saya.
Menuki: Shakudo, horse is engraved with gold color.
Kozuka: Shakudo, horse is engraved with gold color. There is a dent on the back side.
