Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Shimofusa no kami Kanehide

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold and copper double foiled habaki
Blade length : 47.2 cm or 18.59 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.85 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.45 cm or 0.96 inches.
Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.3 inches.
Era : Edo period Circa Kanbun(1661-1672).
Shape : It looks like re-made Naginata naoshi wakizashi.
It is large kissaki and it is nice shape piece.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
Hamon : Consisted in nie structure, it is kogunome mix with some togari ba.
There are sunagashi seen. Boushi is round notare style.

Special feature : Shimofusa no kami Kanehide was working at Mino province and then he moved to Edo province.
The blade is unusual naginata nosh style.
