Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Echizen Kuni Shimosaka Sadatsugu.

Shinto : Jyosaku high ranking : Echizen province.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 39.2 cm or 15.43 inches.
Sori : 0.4 cm or 0.18 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.21 cm or 1.26 inches.
Kasane : 0.76 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanei era.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick Hirauchi style gorgeous blade.
Jitetsu : Itame had well grained with jinie attach and chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair and cyoji midair mix up and down style.
In Hamon, there are many sunagashi and Kinsuji work.

Special feature : Echizen Kuni Shimosaka Sadatsugu was working at Echizen province Keicyo era to kana era.
Probably he was a student of the Yasutsugu.
The blade looks Higo Daijyo Sadakuni very strong feeling Hirauchi style wakizashi.
The blade is healthy active hamon.

Koshirae :
Fuchikashira : Fuchi:Syakudo nanako plate.
Kashira : On the syakudo nanako plate, kiri family crests are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Aogai chirashi saya(blue tiny shell powder spread on the saya).
Menuki : A turtle is engraved with gold color.
