Eiroku 6 nen 2 gatsu hi (February 1563)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Sukesada belongs to regular saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 68.2 cm or 26.85 inches.
Sori : 2.4 cm or 0.94 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.88 cm or 1.13 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.90 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : regular size with deep Sori. nice shape Katana.
Jitetsu : :Koitame hada with Mokume mixed. Jinie is attached
and utsuri is appearing.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha, rather tight with clear.

Special feature : Sukesada was active from Early Muromachi Period
to Late Muromachi Period that continues long time from late Edo period.
Bishu Osafune Sukesada is known for Kazuuchi or mass produced sword.
The condition of Nakago is not so clear. But the blade is nice shape and has Koshirae.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Mokko shape iron Tsuba with brass inlay.
Fuchikashira : Silver with chrysanthmum.
Saya : Black Ishimeji Saya with black stripe.
Menuki : Shakudo, flower is engraved with gold color.
