Katana in Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Echizen koku Ju Kaneue

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Echizen koku Ju Kaneue belongs to Jyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 70.0 cm or 27.55 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.03 cm or 1.19 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.34 cm or 0.92 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : Wide and thick blade. There are Futasuji-Hi
and Koshi-Hi and Soe-Hi on the Shinogiji.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. There are fine Chikei.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha and Notareba. There are many Ashi.
Boshi is round Yakisage style.

Special feature : He is a sword smith during Gennna era(1615-1624).
He engraved his name as "Echizen Ju Kaneue" and "Echizen Koku Kaneue".
He has an excellent reputation about the sharpness. He is Ryo Wazamono ranking.
There are engraving of "十八公". It means that "松 (pine tree)".

Koshirae : Handachi Koshirae.
Tsuba: Thick Mokko shape Shakudo Tsuba. The rim is Nanako.
Fuchikashira and Kojiri: Shakudo, arabesque is engraved.
Saya: Black bule shell Saya.
Menuki: Rabbit and crescent moon.
