Senshuu horu nari (Senshu engraved)

Shinshinto : JyoJyo saku high ranking : Settsu province.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Blade length : 73.0 cm or 28.74 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.36 cm or 1.32 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.57 cm or 1.01 inches.
Kasane : 0.81 cm or 0.31 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is very wide(3.36cm) and thick with oo-kissaki nice gorgeous sword.
On the moot side, engraved fantastic dragon swallowing Ken.
On the Ura side nice Dokko Ken was engraved.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach and also Chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha with double hamon and ash.
Boshi is round shape hakikake style.

Special feature : Gassan Unryushi Sadakazu was born at Oumi province and an adopt son of the Gassan Sadayoshi.
The moved to Oosaka and made swords.
Sadakazu tried restoration of Gassan hada which is called Ayasugi hada old gassan school made.
They succeeded to make reappearance restoration sword and keep this technique as their top secret for his family.
He succeeded the technique over his master Sadayosi and moved up his technique and finally mastered Bizien den, Sosyu den,
Mino Den Yamashiro Den and Yamato den and also high tenique of engraving sword which is called Toshin boor.
After the decree banning the wearing of swords、He spent very hard time but At Meiji 39, he appointed as Teisitsu art member at meiji 39th.
He became the top ranking swordsmith at that time. He passed away 11th July Taisyo 7th age 84.
This sword looks Yamato Tegai style and quite well texture and nice Hamon.
Engraving of this sword was done by Kokeguchi Sensyu who was Mukansa of Toshin bori.
On the upper part of the Nkago is mentioned the date and the name by himself.
Of course before engraving toshin bori, he remind Gassan Sadakazu's horimono and tried to make the best engraving on this sword.
I think this engraving is much better than Sadakazu,
this fantastic Horimono by Kokeguchi Sensyu is one of his top ranking Horimono in his life.
He engraved his name and date on the Nakago is his pride.
Unfortunately Mukansa Kokeguchi Sensyu passed away.
But in the future, this sword will be high reputation by sword collectors.
