Katana : Ho-Kyo Fujiwara Rai Kinmichi

Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Ho-Kyo Fujiwara Rai Kinmichi Tsukuru(2nd generation)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku
ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki copper single habaki.
Blade length : 71.2 cm or 28.031 inches.
Sori : 1.5cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.84cm or 1.11 inches.
Width at the Kissaki :2.18 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : early Edo period Kanei era.
Shape : The blade is about 3cm Suriage and machiokuri
with suitable sori and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jitetsu :Itame had and Masame had mixed with jinie attach
and chikei work beautiful texture.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair and in Ha, there are many sunagashi and kinsuji work.
Boshi is round shape Hakokake(brush up) and turns back yakisage deep.

Special feature :2nd generation Ho-Kyo Fujiwara Rai Kinmichi was
a son of the first generation Kinmichi and called Izumi Kami Rai Kinmichi,
Daihoshi Ho-Kyo Rai Kinmichi, Hokyo Fujiwara Rai Kinmichi.
The shape has influence of Keicyo style nice looking powerful style
which remind us Kunihiro.
Very famous samurai Araki Mataemon loved Rai kinmichi like this sword.

Koshirae:
Tsuba:On the round shape brass nanako plate,
clouds and a dragon are engraved.
Saya:black roar saya.
Huchikashira:On the syakudo nanako plate, a family crest is engraved.
Menuki:On the syakudo plate, some designe is engraved with gold color.
