Katana in Shirasaya

Signature : Mumei

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This belongs to regular saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.3 cm or 28.07 inches.
Sori : 2 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.2 cm or 1.25 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.53 cm or 0.99 inches.
Kasane : 0.84 cm or 0.33 inches.
Era : Modern period.
Shape : It is 3.2cm wide and thick with much Sori curing. Kissaki is long and maginificent work.
From the shape of the Nakago it seems to be O-Suriage style cut shorten blade.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame hada well grained with Jinie attached. There is no Kizu or flaw on the Jigane.
Hamon : NIe Deki with combination of Gunome midare.

Special feature : At a glance, it looks old but from the Jigane and Hamon it seems to be young Modern work.
He is most likely sword smith around Kyushu area.
