Katana in Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Jumyo)

Shinto: Chujo saku: Muno perovince.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 60.1 cm or 23.66 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.98 cm or 1.17 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.05 cm or 0.80 inches.
Kasane : 0.71 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : Thick Katana. There are Bo-Hi on both side.
Jitetsu : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. It is clear Jigane.
Hamon : Ko-Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with Togari-Ha.
Kissaki is Midarekomi small round shape.

Special feature : The founder of the Jumyo started from Muromachi period
and continued to late Edo period. Sword maker Jumyo were well known
sword school because Jumyo means life.
This blade was made around Edo period.This Jigane is beautiful.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Iron Tsuba, person and bamboo are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo, Chrysanthemum is engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black color Saya with sprinkling of gold powder.
Menuki : Shakudo, person is engraved with gold color.
