Katana : Noshu ju Kanenaga saku

Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae.

Signature: Noshu ju Kanenaga saku

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 67.7 cm or 26.65 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.86 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.91 cm or 0.75 inches.
Kasane : 0.59 cm or 0.23 inches.
Weight of only blade:
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu :Itame had well grained with jinie attach and shirake Utsri appear.
Texture is visible to see well and typical Mino school.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare and togari gunome sanbonsugi style mixed.
Boshi is midarekomi.

Special feature : Noshu Kanenaga was working from middle
to late Muromachi period by several generation.
The Hamon looks like Kanemoto style. The Hamo is rather dark not bright.
Generally Mino school's temper line is dark in order to make cut well sword.
Nakago(tang) 's yasurime(fail) is Higaki yasuri which is typical Mino school.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the round shape stub, leaves are engraved by open work.
Fuchikashira :On the iron plate, flowers are engraved by brass.
Saya : Made with leather. There are chipped parts around the apex.
Menuki : chikens are engraved by gold and copper plate,

Historical background: Japan was war time.
Late Muromachi period was in the midst of the Warring States Period.
