Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Sukemune saku
(Wazamono ranking, Chu-Josaku ranking, Suruga province)

The blade was polished .
Blade length : 69.0 cm or 27.16 inches.
Sori : 2.5 cm or 0.98 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.15 cm or 1.24 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 2.16 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.29 inches.

Era : Late Muromachi period. (about Tenbun era)
Shape : This blade is wide and thick Katana with deep sori and long Kissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame well grained with Jinie attach. Around the Hamachi Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Koniedeki Gunome-midare. Kissaki is Midarekomi style.

Special feature : Sukemune was swordsmith in Suruga province Shimada area. (Sizuoka pref in today.)
Sukemune was little brother of Eisho Gisuke.
His blades have characteristic Nakago.
This Katana has nice quality and have passed NBTHK Hozon Paper.
