Signature : Nagamitsu

Come from Toki Family.
Origami: Hon Ami Koson: Showa 29year(1954).
Toki Yoritoshi had eceived this Nagamitsu from Tokugawa shogunate in Genbun 1year (1736).

Toki Yoritoshi(March 20, 1695-October 17,1744) was a Japanese Daimyo of the Edo period. He served in a variety of position in the Tokugawa shogunate.

The blade was polished
Habaki :Gold Single Foiled Habaki
Blade length : 72.3 cm or 28.46 inches.
Sori : 2.4 cm or 0.94 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.79 cm or 1.09 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.61 cm or 0.63 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period.
Shape : regular size Tachi blade with deep Sori. Elegant shape blade.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada and Mokume mix with Jinie attach. Midare Utsuri appeared.
Hamon : Ko-Nie deki, Choji Midare. There is different levels(ups and downs) on the hamon.

Special feature : Nagamitsu was a great swordsmith of Osafune School in Bizen province who learned under his father Mitsutada. Nagamitsu coordinated swordsmiths of family and followers to achieve excellent results. Quite a few signed Nagamitsu swords still survive.Some of them show brilliant temperline including Kawazugo-choji that
HIs masterpiece will be Tachi Mei(signature) Nagamitsu(famous O-Hannya waka Nagamitsu). It is a piece that is related to Ashikaga Shogunate and was famous of that. This tachi has cost 600 Ryo 25kg.
It is famous as a gift of appreciation from Tokgawa Ieyasu to Okuhira Nobumasa who has protected the Nagase Castle at the Battle of Nagase.
It is now stored in National Museum.
Tachi signature Nagamitsu(Famous Oumi Nakgamitsu) was formerly holded by Oda Nobunaga however stoled by Akechi Mitsuhide and brought to Tsuda Oumi. This is why it is called Oumi.
Later on the Tachi was presented to Maeda Toshinaga which has then become one of Tokugawa Family.
This piece is Ubu Nakago that has deep sori and elegant shape. The jigane is very nice and the hamon is partly blured(Shimi-Gokoro).
Boshi is Sansaku style hamon and the midare utsuri is clear. It is a masterpiece.
This piece is a sword that was descended from Toki family and the record of that time is still remaining.Please see the Origami paper picture.

Koshirae :
Fuchi: Shakudo, family crests are engraved with gold color.
kashira : Black horn.
Saya : Dark brown color.
Menuki : Shakudo, eggplants are engraved with gold color.
Kozuka : Shakudo Nanako, dragon with Ken is engraved with gold color.
Kogatana : bamboo.
Wari-Kogai:Shakudo plate with mandarin duck engraved and inlaid with gold.
