Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Ise Daijo Fujiwara Tsunahiro

Wakizashi in Shirasaya, with Koshriae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Ise Daijo Fujiwara Tsunahiro.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku, Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyojyo Saku ranking.

Shinto : Jyo saku : Wazamono : Sagami province
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Single copper Habaki.
Blade length : 53.93 cm or 21.24 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.13 cm or 1.23 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.30 cm or 0.90 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Manji era (1658-1660)
Shape : Wide and thick healthy blade.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with rather thick Nioikuch.

Special feature : According to one theory, Nagasone Okisato was a student of Tsunahiro.
Soshu Tsunahiro was started from Muromachi period to late Edo period.
This blade was made by Ise Daijo Fujiwara Tsunahiro(5th generaiotion).
This sword is very healthy blade, and it has nice jigane, clear hamon that reminds us of Kotetsu.
At Manji 3rd year(1660), he got the tytle of the Ise Daijyo.
He passed away on March 1st, 1968 at age of 83.

Saya : Black Roiro saya
Tsuba : This is a iron Tsuba.
Menuki : Shakudo plate with bird design engraved with gold color iroe.
Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo nanako plate, the Shishi-dog is engraved with gold color iroe.
