Tanto in Koshirae

Signature : Sukeshige (Not Guarantee)

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold single foiled habaki.
Blade length : 21.05 cm or 8.28 inches.
Sori : No Sori
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.08 cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is regular width and thickness Takenoko-Zori tanto
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha with double ha mixed. Boshi is midare komi style.

Special feature : The signature of this Tanto is Sukeshige but it is faded because the Nakago is filed.
We do not know if this signature is good or not.
It is late Muromachi period work.

Koshirae : It is wonderful koshirae.
Tsuba : Mokko shape iron tsuba with gold inlay.
Fuchikashira : Iron plate with flower design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Saya : Black roiro saya. paulownia and chrysanthemum design engraved and gold Makie lacquered.
Menuki : Dragon is engraved
Kojiri : Shakudo Ishimeji plate with dog design engraved and inlaid with Shakudo and copper.
Kurigata : Silver plate with cloud design engraved and Kabuto design engraved on iron plate.
