Tanto in Koshirae with box

Signature : Mumei attributed as Sue Seki school.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 20.0 cm or 7.87 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.54cm or 1 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is rather small size and rather wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with jinie attach blackish jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare and boshi is togari and turns back sharply.
The hamon front and back are well match like Muramasa style.

Special feature : from the jigane and hamon looks late Muromachi seki school.
The blade is healthy without kizu.
I think some one reshaped the blade to Muramasa.
Hamon both side are quite sama temper line.

Koshirae : Aikuchi Koshirae.
all matching copper fittings.
Saya : apper part is black kizami saya and the matsu
tree's trunk shape is engraved by Urushi nuri.
Tanto is stored in the wood box.

Historical background: Muromachi period war time.
