"Yakitachi ha Sayani wosamete Masurao no Kokoro Masumasu Tokuhekakeri
Shosanmi Arikoto tsukuru heiei"

Explanation: There are signature and poem on the blade.
Poem: The Samurai should be sheathe the sword to its scabbard and improve yourself
by Arikoto who also made this blade.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Arikoto belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 29.4 cm or 11.57 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.77 cm or 1.09 inches.
Kasane : 0.69 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Middle to late Edo period.
Shape : Rather wide and thick blade. There are signature and poem on the blade.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach and visible to see the texture.
Hamon : Nie Deki Gunome Midare. In Ha, there are Sunagashi.

Special feature : Chigusa Arikoto was born in 1796.
He is a court noble and poet. He made the blade and engraved his poem on the blade.
He passed away 1854 at age of 58. There is the poem which about the Samurai spirit.
His sword is very rare. This blade is also one of the few sword.
We recommend this Tanto very much.
