Tanto in Koshirae

Signature : Mumei (Sueseki)
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 27.9 cm or 10.99 inches.
Sori : 0.3 cm or 0.12 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.65 cm or 1.04 inches.
Kasane : 0.48 cm or 0.19 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The shape is wide and has regular thickness. There are bohi engraved on both the front and back side of the blade. There is sori on the top part of the blade. The sakizori explains that it is a typical shape of late Muromachi piece.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with slight shirake utsuri appear.
Hamon: Konie base gonome midare mix with brushing style boshi.

Special feature : There are some flaws but it is clearly showing the shape at the time.
There are emphasis on the cutting edge.

Koshirae : Suaka(copper) base Issaku koshirae.
Tsuba : Suaka tsuba.
Fuchikashira : Suaka Fuchigashira.
Saya : Brown Ishimeji style(Rock surface style) with family crest engraved.
Menuki : Shakudou with bird design engraved.
Kozuka : Suaka base with the design of the sparrow
