Tanto : Muneyoshi (Eccyu Uda school)

Tanto in Shirasaya, with Koshirae. (NTHK estimation Paper)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Muneyoshi belongs to regular ranking.

Middle Koto : Ryo Saki Ranking : Eccyu.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled double hamon.
Blade length : 20.60 cm or 8.11 inches.
Sori : No Sori
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 1.67 cm or 0.65 inches.
Kasane : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is very thick Yoroi do-shi style.
Jitetsu : Itame had well grained with Masanaagare.
Hamon : Suguha hamon Yakizume boshi.

Special feature : Muneyoshi was working from Nanbokucyo period but this Tanto is very thick,
so the blade was made around Eikyo era middle Muromachi period.
From the jignane and hamon the Tanto must be made at late Muromachi.

Koshirae : The Koshirae is issaku kosirae.
Tsuba : Aikuchi Tsuba. The Tsuba was made by silver dots.
Fuchikashira : Kojiri. Kurikata: all matching silver dots.
Saya : On the black roar saya, painted by red and silver color.
Menuki : A crab is engraved by syakudo. edo period.
