Tanto(Yoroi Doshi) in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Nobukuni

Shinshinto: Nami Saku: Chikuzen province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : silver single Habaki.
Blade length : 26.6 cm or 10.47 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.2 cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 1.01 cm or 0.39 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : Thick and cut well Yoroi Doshi Tanto.
The Kissaki is long.
Jigane : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. There is Chikei.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha base with Notare.
There are Ko-Gunome Midare with many Ashi. In Ha, there are Sunagashi
and Kinsuji. Boshi is Togari Hakikake Yakisage shape.

Special feature: Nobukuni of Edo period succeeded in Chikuzen province.
And has produced many sword smiths.
We guess that this Nobukuni is Chikuzen jun Nobukuni Minamoto Shigekane.
He belonged to Suishinshi Masahide school. And he helped his master.
This blade has nice Jigane and Hamon. He is skillful sword smith.
The polishing is also very nice. This is masterpiece of Nobukuni blade.
