This Shigemasa saku(Sengo) belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold foiled double Habaki.
Blade length : 30.6 cm or 12.04 inches.
Sori : 0.4 cm or 0.15 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.775 cm or 1.09 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Muromachi period, Tenbun era(1532-1555).
Shape : Wide and rather thick blade with Saki Zori.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, square Gunome Midare. The Hamon is of uniform on both side.
In Ha, there are many Sunagashi and Tobiyaki.
Kissaki is round shape.
Special feature : Tradition says that Masashige is a son or pupil of Muramasa.
His blades are very alike Muramasa's blade. The Hamon is of uniform on both side.
And the Nakago shape is also
His blades are less than Muramasa. Because he helped his master Muramasa to make a sword.
This blade is looks like Muramasa blade. There are many Sunagashi and Tobiyaki.
In the past, 10 pieces of Masashige was designated as NBTHK Juyo Token.
This blade has also possibility to get that.

Saya : Black and dark brown Saya with Inro Kizami.
Menuki : dragonfly is engraved with gold color.
Kozuka: Silver, dragonfly and butterfly are engraved. Signature: Naomitsu(Late Edo period).
Kogatana: signature: Mino kami Fujiwara Masatsune.
