Wakizashi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Echigo Kami Fujiwara Kunitomo.

Sayagaki: Echigo Kami Fujiwara Kunitomo.
Shobu Tsukuri Wakizashi. The 7 characters signature.
This blade is calm Notare Midare Hamon and unique in the Horikawa school.
The temper is so nice and typical Kunitomo blade.
The blade length is 40.4cm.

Shinto: Jyojyo Saku: Ryo Wazamono: Yamashiro province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword Echigo Kami Fujiwara Kunitomo. belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki :Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 40.4  cm or 15.90 inches.
Sori : 1.5cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 2 
Width at the hamachi : 3.06 cm or 1.20 inches.
Kasane : 0.68cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanei era.
Shape : The blade is Suo-bu zukuri style wakizashi.
Jigane :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach and Chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha from the Hamachi area and after that the hamon is gunome midare with thick nioikuchi like Doranba hamon and ashi work.

Special feature: Echigo Kami Fujiwara Kunitomo waas born at Nisshu province. He is a nephew of Horikawa Kunihiro. He studied under Kunihiro.
His works looks like Kunihiro. The Hamon is Doranba with thick Nioikuchi large Gunome Midare. The Ha is bright. The 1st generation Kunisuke and 1st generation Kunisada are also same school.
This blade is Shobu Tsukuri masterpiece. It is blade is quite rare and presicous.
