Wakizashi in Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Fujiwara Shigeyuki (Takada)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to regular saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : single copper Habaki.
Blade length : 43.8 cm or 17.24 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi : 2.83 cm or 1.11 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.19 cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Edo period around Kanbun era.
Shape : Regular size Wakizashi with Sori.
The Kissaki is long. nice shape Wakizashi.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained. likes Muji.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare. There are Ashi.
Boshi is Midarekomi shape.

Special feature: Fujiwara Shigeyuki group continued for 4th generations
since early Edo period. It is difficult to distignguish the period.
We guess that blade was made around early Edo period.

Koshirae :
Saya : Kawari Nuri Saya.
Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba. line pattern with brass.
Menuki : Shakudo, wild boar is engraved.
Kozuka: Shakudo Nanako. cherry blossoms are engraved with silver inlay.
