The blade was polished.
Habaki:Silver double habaki.
Blade length : 50.2 cm or 19.76 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.13 cm or 1.23 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.22 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period Meireki era 1655.(358 years ago)
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu : Itame had well grained with jinie attach masanagare blackish jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare Togari gunome mixed.

Special feature : Houki Kami Fujiwara Hirotaka was working at Echizen province.
He is very skillful swordsmith making like this Kanemoto style sword, gunome midair with thick nioikuchi and also Doranba hamon.
He was a stream oc Echizen Shimosaka probably Yasushige.

Historical background : At 1657 Meireki 3rd, Edo suffered from a conflagration which is called Meireki no taika.
About 605 of Edo was destroyed by the fire and died 100,000 people.

Tsuba : On the round shaped iron stub, some family crest Kirimons are engraved.
Fuchikashira : On the high quality syakudo nanako plate, kirimon are engraved.
Saya : Black roar saya.
Menuki : Flowers and vase are engraved with gold color.
