Wakizashi in Shirasaya

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper Habaki
Blade length : 41.36 cm or 16.28 inches.
Sori : 3.18 cm or 1.25 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.76 cm or 1.08 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.04 cm or 0.80 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : early Edo period.
Shape : The width and thickness is regular shape with shallow sori and longer kissaki.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
It is tender texture jigane.
Hamon : Nie base with mixture of sharp end gunome mixture.
There are some tobiyaki(small burns of tempering in the ji). Active sunagashi work along with delicate kinsuji is seen.
Boushi is rough mix and is yakizume style.

Special feature : Itame hada well grained and hamon is nie base, gnome midare style ha.
Fine wakizashi that shows the characteristic of MIno blade well.

Koshirae:
Tsuba : Dragon and Karakusa pattern is engraved both on the rim and surface. Nanban school tsuba.
Fuchigashira : Iron basee with Nanban style pattern engraved and inlayed with gold.
Menuki : The design is hard to identify.
Saya : Dark brown color Ishimeji saya.
Kojiri : Iron base with Karakusa pattern engraved and inlayed with gold.
