Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Kanemachi

Wakizashi : in Koshirae.(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper)

Signature : Kanemachi.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Kanemachi is JFutu(regular quality) Saku ranking.
The blade was polished
Habaki:copper single habaki with family crest.
Blade length : 33cm or 12.99inches.
Sori : 0.8cm or 0.31inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi :3.1 cm or 1.22inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi Period Circa Eisho Year 1558
Shape : It is wide and thick shape with Bo-hi engraved on both side.
Jitetsu :Itame Hada well grained iwth jinie attahced
It is clear and nice jigane for Sekimono.
Hamon : NIe Deki gunome midare
with some ups and downs on the ha.

Special feature : Unlike the Bizen tanto, Mino tanto has strong curve on the tip.
It is also wider. This piece is typical Mino work. It has focused on the sharpness.
The ha is slightly blurred.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round shape iron tsuba with Autumn leaf and wild goose design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Fuchi: Copper plate with two mice design raised with shakudo and inlaid with gold.
Kashira; Shakudo Ishimeji plate with pine leaf design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Menuki: Shakudo plate with spider design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Saya: Black plate with pine pattern drawn in brown.
