Wakizashi in Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Kanesumi (Seki province)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold and silver foiled double Habaki.
Blade length : 30.7 cm or 12.08 inches.
Sori : 0.5 cm or 0.19 inches.
Mekugi :  2
Width at the hamachi : 2.92 cm or 1.14 inches.
Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : Wide, Sunnobi Tanto.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Ko-Nie Deki, Ko-Gunome Midare with Togari-Ha.
There are Yo. Boshi is Togari deep round shape.

Special feature : Kanesumi is a sword smith of Seki province.
He succeed in late Muromachi period. He has an excellent
reputation about sharpness. Generally his blade has rough texture.
But this blade is very healthy and nice Jigane.
The Hamon is Togari Gunome Midare.

Koshirae :
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Tsuba : Mokko shape iron Tsuba, bird and plant are engraved with gold and silver inlay.
Menuki : Shakudo, mouse is engraved.
Fuchi: Shakudo Nanako, landscape is engraved with gold color.
Kashira : Yamagane, flower is engraved.
