Wakizashi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Kazusa Kami Kaneshige.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This swordKzusa Kami Kaneshige belongs to Jyo-jyo sakuranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: copper single habaki
Blade length : 56.06 cm or 22.07 inches.
Sori : 0.76 cm or 0.29 inches.
Mekugi :2  
Width at the hamachi : 2.93 cm or 1.15 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.16 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo Kanbun era.
Shape : about 3cm suriage machiokuri
and wide and also thick healthy blade with longer kissaki,
Jigane :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach.
Hamon :niedeki with thick nioikuchi and gunome midare mixed
with thic nioikuchi ashi work.
In hamon, there are many sunagashi and kinsuni scatter.

Special feature: Kazusa Suke Fujiwara Kaneshige was a swordsmith
of Musashi province. He served for the Todo family and also forged sword
in Sesshu province, present Mie pref. His sword is very sharp and ranked
at Ryo-wazamono. It is said that a great swordsman Musashi Miyamoto
treasured Kaneshige's katana. The distinctive feature appears
on highly-spirited temperline resembled to Kotetsu.
