Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Masatsune.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 37.87 cm or 14.89 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.3 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.21 cm or 1.26 inches.
Kasane : 0.54 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : The blade is wide and thin Syobu zukuri shaped nagamaki style.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attach and chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and double hamon with ashi and yo scatter in Ha. Niedeki suguha and double hamon with ashi and yo scatter in Ha.
Boshi :Niedeki with thick nioikuchi roung Togari and turns back Yakisage style.

Special feature : The Masatsune was called Nando Taro suke and studied from master first generation sagami Kami Masatsune and after that he became a adopted son of first generation masatsune.
This sword looks like first generation Masatsune which has a lot of activities in Ha.
