Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae

Signature:Minamoto Nobukuni Yoshisuke.

The blade was polished.
Habaki:Single copper habaki.
Blade length : 50.7 cm or 19.96 inches.
Sori : 1.7 cm or 0.66 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.78 cm or 1.09 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.90 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Edo period Keian era(1648)
Shape : The blade is regular sized rather long wakizasi with deeper sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach nice texture.
Hamon : Niedeki kogunome midair and gunome midair mixed.
Boshi: midarekomi round shape.
Special feature : Minamoto Nobukuni Yoshisuke is first and second generation but it is difficult which generation.
The blade is pretty nice and attractive sword.

Historical background : Keian no Hen(Yui Syosetsu no Ran)the revolution occurred Keian 4th(1651 April).
At that period, Edo era was stable and peaceful year but meanwhile many Ronin(lost job)and The unemployment lines are growing.
So Yui Syosetsu and others tried to overthrow the regime ofJapan's feudal government but failed.
Yui Syosetsu killed by himself (seppuku) and other members Kanai Hanbei also killed by himself.
Other member Maruhashi Cyuya was arrested and killed by crucifixion.

Tsuba : On the round iron Tsuba, peony flowers and butterflies are engraved with syakudi and gloss color.
Fuchikashira : On the syakudo nanako plate, peony flowers and butterflies are engraved with syakudi and gloss color.
Saya : Black roar saya.
Menuki : Peony flowers and butterflies are engraved with syakudi and gloss color.
