Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Morimitsu 'Kashu'

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature : Morimitsu (Kashu)
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jo saku ranking.

The blade is polished.
Habaki :gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length : 37.2 cm or 14.65 inches.
Sori : 0.6 cm or 0.24 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the Hamachi : 2.89 cm or 1.14 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era. (around A.D.1661~1672)
Shape : The blade is healthy Shobuzukuri style.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach nice clear Jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki Gunome-midare with deep Nioikuchi.
Boshi is Togari styale and then turns back to the Shinogi Machi very long.

Special feauture : According to the book, Morimitsu (Kashu province) was active around Ouan era (14th century) but I think the blade was made at Owari province around Edo Kanbun era because from Jigane and condition.
Tough NBTHK judged the blade was made by Morimitsu at Kashu province.
The blade is healthy and nice looking shape anyway.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Rim rised on round shape iron Tsuba with horse riding samurai crossing over the river.
Fuchi-kashira : Plum and chrysanthemum flowers are carved on Shakudo plate.
Saya : Shrimp is painted with black colored lacquer on rusett color Saya.
Menuki : Unidentified object carved on Shakudo plate with gold color.
