Wakizashi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Noshu Seki Sanami Kanetaka.

shinto: Mino province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This No-syu Seki Sanami Kanetaka. belongs to Jyo-saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki:copper single habaki.
Blade length : 54.2cm or 21.34 inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.94 cm or 1.16inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.32 cm or 0.91 inches.
Kasane : 0.71 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : early Edo period.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with long kissaki nice volume healthy blade.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach nice texture.
Hamon : Niedeki togari gunome midare up and down active temper line.
Boshi is Togari round shape yakisage deep.

Special feature : No-syu Seki Sanami Kanetaka belongs to
Sanami school which started from Muromachi period to early Edo period.
The nakago Yasurime is rather different other sword makers.
The Yasurime is called Takanoha yasuri.
At seki province, Sanami and Zenjyo school are well known sword school.
The blade is healthy blade. The blade is well known swword maker as cut well sword.
This sword is polished perfectly.
