Wakizashi in Koshirae

Bunsei 2 Nen 11 Gatsu Kichijitsu. (1818,November lucky day)

SHinshinto : Chu-jyo saku ranking : Uzen province.

The blade was polished.
Habaki :Gold single foiled habaki.
Blade length : 38.9 cm or 15.31 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi:1
Width at the hamachi : 2.90 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.30 cm or 0.9 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick long kissaki nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach.
Hamon : Niedeki doranba hamon.
Boshi is round shaped togari gokoro kaeri style.

Special feature : Akama Tsunanobu was called Kisaburo who lived at Yonezawa province. He studied from Kato Tsunahide. His master made Doranba quite well and also studied Kato Chounsai Tsunatoshi also. At that time, many sword makers like Ozaki Suketaka, Suishinshi Masahide, made doranba hamon like Sukehiro.
Tsunahide school students like Tsunatoshi, Tsunanobu's doranba hamon is rather strict.
The blade is healthy without Kizu and flow.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :The stub looks like hawk which is interesting work. Late Owari school.
Fuchikashira :On the shakudo plate, a deer and maple tree are engraved.
Saya : Black roiro saya.
Menuki : A chicken is engraved by shakudo plate with gold color.
Kozuka : On the shakudo plate, plant and a moon are engraved with gold and silver plate. Signed - Shunmei Hogan.
