Wakizashi in Shirasaya

Signature : Soshu Ju Hiromasa (Unreliable Signature)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Wakizashi belongs to Futsu(regular) ranking.

The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold single foiled Habaki
Blade length : 38cm or 14.96inches.
Sori : 0.8cm or 0.31inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.97cm or  1.17inches.
Kasane : 0.55cm or 0.22inches.
Era : Middle Muromachi period.
Shape : It is rather wide and thin Mitsumune style wakizashi.
It is curved to the tip.
Jitetsu :Itame Hada well grained. Utsuri works are appearing
from the top to bottom. JInie is attached.
Hamon : Nie Deki Ko-Gunome Midare. Koashi is well attached.
Boshi is Yakizume style. There is small flaw on the edge
of temperline around the middle part.

Special feature : The signature is signed Soshu Jyu HIromasa
but Aoi Art do not guarantee that the signature is genuine.
However, it is long tip HIrauchi style wakizashi.
It is somewhat similar to Nanbokucho period works.
The signature is Gimei however, it is still strikingly good work.
