Wakizashi : Takehana Shigehisa Hori Dosaku.

Wakizashi in Shirasaya

Signature : Takehana Shigehisa Hori Dosaku.
Heisei 17 nen 2 Gatu kichijitsu.

Explanation. He made this sword at Heise 17th Feb(2005) lucky day.
The Horomono(engraving) is also made by Shigehisa same sword maker.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Takehana Shigehisa belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 35.7 cm or 14.05 inches.
Sori : 0.5 cm or 0.19 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.51 cm or 1.38 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 3.06 cm or 1.20 inches.
Kasane : 0.71 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era :Gendai period( modern times)
Shape : The blade is wide (3,51cm)and thickened long size gorgeous shape.
On the front, nice Horomonodragon and Tama(round shape) are
engraved and on the back, Rendai, Gomabashi, Bonji are engraved.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach nice texture.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair with a lot of Ashi work to the edge
and sunagashi work. Boshi is round shape and Yo work.

Special feature : Takehana Shigehisa was born at Saitama prefecture
at Showa 24th Feb 13th. He studied making sword from Ikkansai shigemasa
and called Ikkansai achieved from his master. He had his self sword factory at his residence.
He got many prizes like Yusyu soy, Doryoku soy prize.
Recently he started to make engraving on the sword and skill up his technique.
This blade's Tamaoi ryu(a dragon is hunting a ball) which is typical Ikkanshi Tadatsuna
style horimono(engraving). I think he will be estimated highly in the future.
