Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature :Echizen Koku Shimosaka Sadatsugu.

Shinto : Jyosaku high ranking : Echizen province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Echizen Koku Shimosaka Sadatsugu belongs to Jyos saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 50.6 cm or 19.92 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.97 cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.10 cm or 0.82 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Kanei era.1624-1645
Shape : Regular size Wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada was grained with Jinie attach. It is Hokkoku Jigane.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare. In Ha, there are Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Boshi is around Hakikake style.

Special feature : Echizen Kuni Shimosaka Sadatsugu was working
at Echizen province Keicyo era to Kanei era. His blades looks like Echizen Yasutsugu.
This blade is nice work. And also there are much up down on the Hamon.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Mokko shape iron Tsuba. Late Edo period.
Fuchikashira : Iron, landscape is
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : Iron, probaly Shishi dog is engraved.

Historical background:
Historical battled castle which was destorpied. Ruin of the Hara castle.
