Dai Sho Katana Wakizashi

Daisho in Koshirae : Mumei attributed as Mihara Masanobu and Hokke school

Daisho in Koshirae. A set of Katana and Wakizashi.

This Daisho set was found at Showa 28 as the traditional family treasure.
I think These Koshirae is perfect set Koshirae from Edo period.
The condition of the blades and Koshirae are well condition.
We hope you will consider to obtain this nice set of swords with marvelous Koshirae.

Dai : Katana in Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature : Osuriage mumei (unsigned) attributed as Mihara Masanobu.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jo saku ranking ranking.

The blade is polished by good polisher.
Habaki : silver old single habaki.
Blade length : 66.7 cm or 26.3 inches.
Sori :1.67 cm or 0.66 inches.
Mekugi : 5
Width at the hamachi : 2.95cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.14cm or 0.84 inches.
Kasane : 0.67cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : late Nanbokucho period.1380.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened) and regular width, thickness and rather deep sori and longer kissaki elegant shape.
Jigane :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach which looks like Aoe school.
Shinogi texture:The texture is almost sama as Hiraji.
Hamon :Niedeki suguha tight and round shape Boshi.
special feature:NBTHK judged the blade as Mihara Masanobu directly not school. Especially Beautiful Jigane remind us Aoe school.
Swordsmith in Yamato province moved to Bingo at Kamakura period and they were influenced Bingo sword makers and also Bizen Aoe school. Every time watching Jigane, I feel admired the beauty of the texture.

Koshirae :
Saya : On the black roiro saya, contain gold color unusual saya.
Tsuba : On the round iron tsuba, the rim is covered by gold color and engraved Ginkgo leaves. Signature mentioned as ‘Masatsune age 72’.
Menuki : lobster engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira: On the shakudo ishimeji plate, waves and wave plovers are
engraved with gold color.

Sho : Wakizashi in Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature : Osuriage Mumei (cut shortened) attributed as Hokke.

Width at the Kissaki : 2.25 cm or 0.89 inches.
Kasane :0.65 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period.1380~
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei and regular width, thickness elegant shape.
Jigane : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach soft feeling texture.
shinogi texture:Koitame hada masanagare.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and komidare hamon mixed and longer kissaki.
special feature:The founder of Hokke school was Kokubunji Sukekuni who came from Yamato province.
Bingo Hokke school was said as armed priest and made suguha hamon only because of the relligeous meaning.
The Jigane is soft feeling nice texture.

Koshirae :
