Gunto Katana

Signature: Emura saku

The blade was polished.
Habaki: Copper habaki.
Blade length : 66.9cm or 26.33 inches.
Sori : 1.8cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.15cm or 1.24 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.90cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.71cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Showa period.
Shape : It is regular size. It is rather tough looking.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grained with jinie attached.There are small chikeis attached. It is close to muji style.
Hamon : Nie base kogunome with ashi well attached.

Special feature : Emura was a chief warden of the Okayama prison during war time. He and Ichihara Nagamitsu were making Japanese swords with Okayama prison.
And it is said that he made many prisoner’s blade.
But there is no information about these matter.
Emura made better blades than Nagamitsu.
And some his blades well polished are better than Yasukuni blade.
These swords were made careful attention for polishing and quality itself.
