Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Paper)

Signature:Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Seki Kanetomo.

sayagaki was done by Dr Kanzan sensei: Koden Kanetomo Hacyo 2syaku 2sunn 7bu air Syowa Hituji inoshishi Nen Shiwasu Kichijitsu Kanzan.
explanation:The sword was reported from old time as Kanetomo the length is 72.6cm.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 68.6 cm or 27.00 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi: 4
Width at the hamachi : 2.95cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.16 cm or0.85 inches.
Kasane :0.67 cm or 0.264inches.
Era :late Nanbokucyo period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened), the blade is rather wide and thick and longer Kissaki style.
Jitetsu :Itame had and mokume had mixed with jinie attach very nice texture.
Hamon : Nioideki gunome midare and noter hamon and also togari gunome mix. Boshi is midarekomi style.

Special feature : Kanetomo was a son of the Sizu Saburo Kaneuji who was making sword at Mino province.
Kanetomo moved to Naoe province so he was called Naoeshizu.
Naoe shizu school made swords very active hamon and also very gentle calm swords. This sword is very gentle mild temper sword.
I saw Kanetomo which was made Ouan era which is like this elegant gentle hamon.
According to the Kanzan sayagaki, the blade was reported from old as Seki Kanetomo.The blade is very elegant nice texture.
