Sunnobi-Tanto: Kanenori

Sunnobi-Tanto in Shirasaya, with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Paper)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 32.12 cm or 12.64 inches.
Sori : 0.75cm or 0.3inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.73 cm or 1.07 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : Rather wide and thick Sunnobi Tanto.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attached.
Hamon : Nie Deki Gunome Midare. From Hamachi is Suguha and then Gugome Midare.
Around Monouchi part is Notare round shape, Sansaku Boshi.
In Ha, there are many Ashi and Yo.

Special feature : Kanenori was active around late Muromachi to Azuchi Momoyama period in Mino province.
This sword smith is descended from the Magoroku Kanemoto.
This blade looks like Daido, Wakasa no kami Ujifusa or Hida no kami Ujifusa.
The Hamon is soft and beautiful.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Brass Tsuba, Imome design is engraved with open work.
Fuchikashira and Kojiri: Shakudo Nanako with gold color.
Saya : Kawari Nuri Saya.
Menuki : Kabuto is engraved with gold color.
