Tanto : Mumei(Hokke)

Tanto in Koshirae(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature: Mumei(Hokke)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 22.6cm or 8.9 inches.
Sori : Uchizori (It is curved towards the ha)
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.55 cm or 1 inches.
Kasane : 0.49 cm or 0.19 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period.
Shape : It is regular size shape. On the front side the Gomabashi stick of stopping worldly passion is engraved and inlayed with gold.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is black jigane and chikei is well attached.
Hamon : Konie base(small dots of nie in straight line) suguha. Boushi has slight turn back. Almost non(yakizume style).

Special feature : Hokke pieces are made from Bingo no kuni hokke Ichijyou school and was active from Nanbokucho period.
It is said that Kokubunji Sukekuni is the origin of Hokke school. The jigane is soft feeling with thin suguha.
It is plain and simple piece. The Jigane is close to Kyushu pieces from its clear steel surface.

Menuki : Shakudou base with lion design engraved.
Saya : Black Roiro saya.
Kozuka : On shakudou nanakoji base men are engraved and inlayed with gold.
